Due to construction work, the intersection of Asemakatu and Jaakonkatu will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6 to 14 August. In addition, Tehtaankatu will be closed to vehicular traffic between Pajakatu and Asemakatu on 11 and 12 August.

The underpass will also be closed to vehicular traffic during the construction period.

A detour route is available via Jaakonkatu – Kauppiaankatu – Choraeuksenkatu – Kanavapuistikko – Jaakonkatu. For traffic on Tehtaankatu, the detour runs via Itäinen Rengastie and Pajakatu. The underpass tunnel remains open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The underpass is open to pedestrians and cyclists. The sidewalk on the northern and western sides of the intersection of Asemakatu and Jaakonkatu remains open for pedestrians and cyclists. At Tehtaankatu, pedestrians and cyclists are also redirected via Itäinen Rengastie and Pajakatu.

Jakobstad Water and the Town’s Municipal Engineering Department are carrying out modification works on the area’s sewer system.
