The 2026-2027 school year begins on Thursday, 13 August, in Jakobstad’s preschools, comprehensive schools and upper secondary schools.

The autumn term at Pietarsaaren lukio begins at 9:00 a.m. in the main auditorium.

The autumn term at Jakobstads gymnasium begins at 10:00 a.m. in the school’s assembly hall.

We would like to remind students of lukio and gymnasium about the parking arrangements. Parking motor vehicles on school grounds is permitted only for staff members who have obtained a parking permit. Mopeds must be parked in the designated parking spaces along School Street.

Students of Etelänummi School will begin the autumn term in the premises of the Strengberg building due to the school’s renovation. As a result, more traffic than usual is expected in the School Street area. We kindly ask all road users to exercise extra caution and to be mindful of the children and young people moving around the area.
