Use of Fireworks During the “Venetsialaiset” Weekend
The use of fireworks is permitted within the Ostrobothnia Rescue Department’s area without a separate notification on 29 August 2026 from 6:00 PM to 12:00 midnight.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the celebration and fireworks safely, we would like to remind you of the following:
- Remember to protect your own eyes and those of others by wearing safety goggles.
- Read the instructions for use carefully well before setting off any fireworks and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Emergency rockets may only be used in genuine emergency situations.
- Use fireworks only in suitable locations, such as open areas or shorelines where there are no buildings or vehicles nearby.
- Do not give fireworks to minors or intoxicated persons. Never aim fireworks at people, animals, vehicles, or buildings.
- During a wildfire warning, the use of fireworks and open fires is prohibited.
- Please dispose of used rockets, sticks, and other firework debris properly no later than the following day.
- If a firework fails to ignite, leave it untouched for at least ten minutes. Do not attempt to relight it. Place the unfired firework in a bucket of water for 24 hours before disposing of it.
We wish everyone a safe weekend!
