Collection points and street lighting receive high ratings in technical services survey

The City of Jakobstad participates annually in a public opinion survey on technical services conducted by FCG Finnish Consulting Group.

In the 2026 survey, the highest ratings in Jakobstad were given to glass and paper collection points and street lighting. The main areas identified for improvement were the condition of residential streets and water services.

Compared with the previous survey, the most significant improvement was seen in residents’ satisfaction with the city’s sports and playing fields as well as the condition of the main roads leading to the town centre. The recommendation rate for local residential areas also increased by eight points over the past year.

The survey questionnaire was developed within a joint project for municipal infrastructure and technical services. The project’s main objective is to improve the measurement of performance in the technical sector. A total of 31 municipalities participated in the 2026 survey. In Jakobstad, the questionnaire was sent to 1500 residents and 386 responses were received.
