The Finnish Supervisory Agency will organise the nationwide LVV26 preparedness exercise from 29 September to 1 October 2026.

The theme of the exercise is civil protection, and its aim is to strengthen society’s ability to function during disruptive situations under normal conditions and in emergency conditions.

More than 10 000 people from nearly 500 organisations at all levels of government across Finland will participate in the extensive exercise. The City of Jakobstad’s participation will not otherwise affect residents, although some city employees may be more difficult to reach during the exercise.

City Manager Robert Nyman considers the nationwide preparedness exercise important.

“It is excellent that exercises of this kind are organised at the national level. Jakobstad has also been actively involved in preparing for the exercise,” Nyman says.
