What is an Energy Efficiency Agreement?

• Energy Efficiency Agreements are voluntary agreements between the government and different sectors that guide industry, the energy and service sectors, the property sector, and the public sector towards more efficient energy use. The new agreement period is the fourth consecutive cycle and covers the years 2026–2035.

• Over the decades, Energy Efficiency Agreements have become an established part of Finland’s energy policy. They play a key role in Finland’s energy and climate strategy and support the country’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035.
