The nationwide Energy Saving Week celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. This year’s theme, “Energy powers everything”, highlights the essential role of energy in everyday life, housing, transport, work, services and throughout society.

The City of Jakobstad is participating in Energy Saving Week and saves energy in the following ways:

• We reduce electricity consumption in our own operations.
• We lower indoor temperatures.
• We reduce the consumption of hot water.
• We streamline production processes to improve energy efficiency.
• We shift electricity consumption away from peak consumption hours, for example by using building automation.
• We make adjustments, repairs, upgrades and renovations that improve energy efficiency.
